  1. It is a volunteer course so you don't have to go.  Depending on the unit you are in if they require you to have it to stay in the unit.  It is not that hard of a course, if you get hurt you have free medicall.

  2. You basicly have two choices.

    Go to air assault school

Or suffer the consiquences of not going.

Which could include an Article 15 or a court martial for disobeying a lawful order.

It is not a voluntary school, like jump school is.

That would almost be like saying, I have a year left in the Army, so I don't want to go into the field for training, because i might get hurt.

Thats just not gonna cut it, and you already know that.

  3. You would think after 3 yrs would would be more confident. Maybe you should stay on-board until you abandon your fear. We all know a little fear is positive but yours seems to be teetering on cowardice. There is no regulation that will save you unless you make something up. Think health issues.

  4. I guess you could request a transfer.

  5. well they always told me i have to go and even put me in air assualt pt but I never went. Some people I know have went and just did day zero up until lunch time and never came back. Cause after lunch when you come back they have roll call and not sure what they do for those that don't come back. I would imagine they contact the unit and let them know. But of course you would be back anyway so they would know too. But I really doubt they can make you go I don't know that's iffy. If you must go do that half day on day zero than just not come back unless you see its not that bad than stay for the rest.

  6. If they tell you to go, you have to go. Not that I recommend it, but you could always go and then fail out purposely. Of course this could mean having to be reassigned to another unit if air assault is a required course for your current unit. You aren't going to get hurt at air assault school if that is your concern.  It is an easy, 1 month school.
