  1. Go a few weeks before. It may take them a day or two to process the paperwork, and then you have to wait 3 days till you can get married from when you receive the paperwork. They are usually valid for a certain period of time. Like in New York there is a 1 day waiting period and the marriage certificate is valid for 60 days. So anytime within the two months after obtaining the certificate you can get married.

This page says your certificate is valid for 60 days but says nothing about a waiting period - so go a few weeks early.

  2. I believe you should go 2 weeks before the wedding and then it will be ready 24 hours later for pickup.

  3. Hi.  The waiting period simply means that it is 3 day from the time you apply for your marriage license until the time that you can be married.

Example:  If you apply for your marriage license on a Monday....you will need to wait until Thursday to be married.

So....simply apply for your marriage license about 2 weeks before your wedding and you will be all set!!

  4. that means you have to get your wedding license more than 3 days before the wedding. i'd go a few weeks before.
