in the texas driving handbook, it says u need sumone 21 or older (with a drivers license) occupying the passenger seat next to u in the car

my question is...do i need to have a 21 year old licensed driver next to me ALL THE TIME???

  1. In some places you can only drive with a fully licenced driver, (Over 3 years experience behind the wheel) and you have to have a minimum 120 hours supervised driving in all road conditions before you can take the licence test. Then for the first year it is no passengers, and for the whole of the full 4 years you have to display on you car "P" plates to show you are a probationary driver. And also NO ALCOHOL AT ALL!

  2. Yeah, but i know that most people dont follow that rule and they drive anyway. I wouldnt recommend doing it, but if you do, make sure you arent speeding or anything cuz then they will pull you over and wanna see your license.

Good luck learning how to drive!

  3. I live in Texas and yes you do at all times until you pass the probationary period......That 21 year old licensed passenger needs to be there in the front seat in case he or she needs to take control of the vehicle in an emergency......

  4. Yes, you do. Until you get your license, you have to have a licensed driver of a certain age. In some states, it has to be a parent or guardian. If you get pulled over and get caught, you won't be getting your license until you are at least 18.
