If you have your shotgun in the back window in a rack, no, as long as you have a current hunting license.  To carry any concealed weapon requires a license whether in a truck, car or on your person.

You have a constitutional right to "keep and bare arms". As long as your weapon is in plain view, you do not need a permit.

If you wish to conceal your weapon (in your glovebox or under your seat), you'll need a "concealed weapons" permit.
