  1. i dont believe that u do. we have at&t n we said dat we were goin 2 change phone companies. so the operator said that u dont have 2 have a phone line 2 have internet. the companies make it seem like u have 2 have a phone line when u reli dont. but every company is different. so u should just call a 1800 number and ask. if they dont give u a straight up answer then threaten 2 change companies then theyll give u a real answer. it worked 4 us. hope i helped

  2. Most phone companies have what is called 'DRY DSL' service. This will give you DSL internet service, without phone service. I don't know the savings, as they will most likely charge more without the associated phone service.

  3. The best option for debt trouble is negotiating your debts with your credit companies to keep the payments from swallowing all of your income. Typically, you have to get a counseling agency to call on your behalf. If you try to work with them yourself, many of them will not cooperate with you because you are not enrolled in credit counseling. Try http://www.womenindebt.info. Good luck!

  4. You can cancel home phone service but still have internet through Verizon's FIOS or DSL. You need the phone line, not the service. Of course, if you don't care about speed, you can use your cell phone as a modem and go online that way.
