Do i have to have my Drivers Permit for a whole year even though im 17????

I'm going to be 17 in August and I am going to get my permit in like a week...do i still have to have my permit for a whole year even though i'm going to be 17??...i live in Colorado by the way

dunno about colorado, look on the like website for that stuff, in massachussetts you only have to wait 6 months after you get your permit to get your license

I believe in most states the wait period is 6 months...

However, no restrictions are removed until age 18.  Then the rules are a bit more lax for getting your license.  Otherwise-- you still have to wait the whole time.
