Do i have to hone a yamaha blaster 200 cylinder when replacing piston rings?

  1. It's a good idea to run a ball hone through the cylinder to break the glaze and put cross hatch grooves in the cylinder to aid in the break in of the new rings.

    Call some shops - they'll charge you a minimal fee (like $20)

    Check the piston to cylinder clearance and ring end gap when rebuilding the top end.

  2. O h**l don't put a ball hone through it, those are so friggin rough it will  wear out your new rings.

    DONT DO IT.
