Do i have to leave my PS3 full on to let it download something in the background? or on standby?

No you have to have the ps3 fully on to be able to download something. Anyway, don't waste energy. As soon as you turn your ps3 on, it begins downloading where it left off, so my opinion is only let it download when your playing a game to save energy, or just leave it on. Not coz I'm a treehugger for the environment, its just that ps3s overheat and can burn and/or break, so you're best not leaving it unattended.
