we have been in this country for 4 yrs. I am here legally but she is not. Can I set up a bank account and pay into it instead of giving the money directly to her?

  1. He is your son and you are responsible for him until he is 18 her in the states  .

  2. You should.  Sounds like you are using her illegal status as a means not to pay her toward his support.  Does he live with her?  If he does, then he needs everything that you do.

  3. Talk to your lawyer. Keep in mind you owe that support to your son, regardless of how much you want to hurt his mother.

  4. It doesn't matter if she's an ex-wife, it doesn't matter that she's here illegally ..... it matters that your son knows you care and that you are doing your best to support him..... if you're suspicious of how your ex-wife would or does spend any money you gave for your son - then give it to him himself .... get him to open a bank account and deposit the money straight in ... then unless he himself gives it to her - she can't touch it .... but you can't and never can disown your responsibilities - your son deserves and is worth more than that .....
