  1. You don't have to use deed poll to change your name, just so long as you are not changing your name for fraudulent reasons. If you are reverting back to the name on your birth certificate, there should be no problems at all, after all it is your legal name.

  2. There are fees and those fees vary by each county and state, so you would have to check with the local court in your county.  They are the ones that charge the fee for you to see the judge.  However, as someone else erroneously pointed out, you do NOT need a lawyer, if you are legally an adult.  If you are still a minor, you likely need your legal guardian's permission, so it would be better to wait until you are 18.

    check it out

Where I live you pay $45 and must provide reason for change. If you are male and do it to keep family line going thats great if female don't bother it will change when you marry.  Why all sudden relatives in picture?  They knew you existed before name change. Do it for the right reason

  4. You can just change it back

  5. You can call yourself anything you want.

As long as it is not for fraudulent purposes, you just need to call yourself by your chosen name.

If you are willing to pay, there is always someone willing to take your money, but legally, it just isn`t necessary.

  6. Name changes are filed by the county clerks office or office of registrar. There is a fee. Check with your local courthouse to find out how much and what the requirements for doing so are. Marriage is an example. So is adoption. Divorce or death of a spouse.

Bear in mind everything else has to be changed as well. Credit cards, driver's license, deeds, social security card, etcetera etcetera.

  7. quite possibly

  8. There is a small fee that must be paid to make your new name legal.

  9. Any change to a legal name requires a petition to a judge.  Unless you are extremely savy with the law, you would need to hire a civil lawyer.

  10. yes pay

  11. Laws regarding change of name certainly vary from one country to another. It depends to some extent on where you live.

  12. no need to pay, just go by what's on the birth card

  13. It's up to you and what age you now are. Also, it is very important to ask the Department of Vital Statistics what you need to do to effect that change. There usually is a charge for this service. I wish you well. Peace!!!
