Do i have to register with the state[texas] to begin to home school my nephew?

To home school you do have to go through some program!  If it is through your local school then you have to register with them.  If it is through another home school group you have to register with them.

You CAN'T just keep the child at home and say you are home schooling!  You do have to be using a program from somewhere!
