Do i have to release gas pedal in an automatic car before it shifts in every shift?

just like the manual car but of course without the clutch? or i dont and all i have to do is accelerate without caring about releasing the gas pedal?

  1. What city do you live in so I don't go there

    You have to push the lever up and down from D1 to D2 to D3

    I don't worry About gas prices since I googled

    "1940 prices for gas impossible you can too"

    and watched the YouTube vid that came up


  2. yup. Unless you're going uphill and need to go to a lower gear. Only then will you need to release the gas pedal for it to change to a lower gear.

An automatic should respond correctly however you drive, by monitoring throttle pressure ans road speed, most automatic transmissions can properly shift up and down. the best performance will be achieved by a constant throttle pressure and avoid manually shifting the transmission, unless equipped with an auto stick, or semi-manual shift mode.  

  4. no it should shift automatticly thats why its called a auto matic if you have to shift my steping off the gass and steping on the gass somthis rong with your trasnsmisson i would have it checked out do not go to amco
