I know that when you lift weights you have to atleast rest it for a day for your muscles to rebuild but what about abs? Do i have to rest it a day aswell, to rebuild my abs muscles or is it fine to do ab excersizes everyday. What's the point in resting it anyways, because i never feel pain in my muscles when i wake up or does it speed up muscle build up? How about cardio, can i do that evryday?

  1. If you never feel pain in your muscles, I'm wondering how well you're doing your exercises.

Cardio should also be given a rest.

I used to do hard cardio 6x a week, hard lifting 6x a week, yoga 2-4x a week, and I was fine. I was also eating 2800-3100 calories per day of lean protein and natural carbs.

  2. abs are muscles that are just like any other muscle that you're exercising... you do need to give it a rest if you are doing it properly... the thing is... if you are not feeling the burn in your abs, then most likely you are not doing it right so you're not getting best results... but if you don't feel your abs hurting, then you are not building muscle there so I guess you could do it every day since you aren't really destroying cells, just to lose a few calories more...

  3. rest ur abs every other day... try this abs workout.... 200 - 300 crunches, 200 - 300 leg raise, 300 lying side leg raise ( i dont know wat its called) rest for every 50 counts....

  4. resting allows your muscles to 'recover' fully from the exercise, even if you haven't worked hard enough to ache.

'Not aching' is a sign that you can manage to lift a bit more weight (or lift the same weights more powerfully). This will make them grow faster, but that wouldn't necessarily be a good thing. Fast-grown muscles can be damaged more easily.

It's ok to work any muscle out every day. You should also perform stretches every day, whether you are exercising the same day or not.

  5. The abdominals are like any other they need rest.  I would suggest more than 1 day.  They need rest to recover from your workout.  Them not hurting doesn't mean anything.  Soreness has absolutely nothing to do with recovery.  Cardio you can do a bit more often but I'd suggest taking 2 or so days off per week to recover.
