it will automatically update when you put the disc in so no need to worry just get it and let it update itself

chill. Your ps3 will automatically update and format as soon as you put in the assassins creed. by the way that game is bomb!

It will only ask you to download the latest version update when you want to make a PSN account for the first time. The process is just like downloading a YouTube video; it's plain and simple. You need broadband to download the update though, because there roughly around 50MB and it will take you hours to download if you're just using dial up. Remember 1000MB makes up 1GB, so 50MB isn't that much.
