Do i have to wait 6 months before taking my driving test?

okay so I took the permit test at 17 1/2 and the DMV said i didn't need to take classes to get my permit so i just took the test and i passed. The thing is I've had my permit for three months and i was wondering if i can take the driving test now or would i have to wait till I'm 18. If so its pretty dumb since its only a couple months away and it was pointless of me to take the permit written test if I'm just gonna wait till I'm 18 to get my license

yea you gotta wait

it does seem pointless but i think its for people who want that six months of practice without having to pay for classes

Yeah you need to wait until your 18 or your 6 months are up..
