Do i have to wait on appeal for ssi for child?

i APPLIED FOR SSI FOR MY 7 YEAR OLD CHILD.AT THE TIME I APPLIED SHE HAD ADD,ADHD,OCD AND SPEECH DELAY.I WAS DENIED SO I GOT A LAWYER TO APPEAL IT.LAWYER SAYS IT WILL BE 12-18 MONTHES BEFORE WE GO TO APPEAL COURT.SINCE THEN SHE HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH ODD AND LEARNING DISABILITY.CAN I REAPPLY OR DO I HAVE TO WAIT TO GO TO COURT.I REALLY NEED THE MONEY BECAUSE WE HAVE TO DO COUNCELING ONCE A WEEK AT MENTAL HEALTH CENTER NOW AND THAT COST MONEY.I AM A SINGLE PARENT.WHAT DO I NEED TO DO?

Depending on your area..l.the "appeals court" comes to you, where I live it is about once a year and hopefully you will be involved on the first go around. Don't reapply, it won't matter. Unfortunately It is a long process. Ours was nearly three years long. We lost everything we had, and then some. Sorry I can't give you much hope. Hopefully things will be different from our situation. Good luck!

all i know is that someone who worked there told me that they HAVE to approve you after your 3rd appeal.

they AUTOMATICALLY deny you the first time.

keep those two points in mind and good luck. my mom went through it with my add/bipolar brother and it was a long process but she got it.

You need to find another lawyer.  My cousin's daughter has problems that entitled her to collect SSI.  Yes she was turned down the first time, my cousin got a lawyer and two months later they were in appeals court.  The judge first wanted to talk with the lawyers so my cousin and her daughter sat outside the court room.  When the lawyer came out they started heading toward the court room and the lawyer said, "It's been approved, your case is finished."  In less than 6 months of her filing the first time the request was approved and a month later the child got her first check.  Get another lawyer, seek one who specializes in SSI appeals.  Hopefully you didn't pay this lawyer up front.

U need to take your kid outside to get in touch with nature somewhere. Nature stimulates all of the senses and relaxes you. Thats why people go to the beach. It makes u feel calm. None of those problems are real medical problems. Those disorders are all over diagnosed and over medicated.

u should let ur doctor write u a letter with her disabilty n u should go back n reapply n good luck
