  1. If you bought a new system and created an account, and now wish to transfer you files, settings, and those programs you have installed on the old system which are in the list of programs that can be transferred, you will not lose your account. In fact, you must have at least one account on the new system in order to transfer anything into the new system from an older system. Do you need some instructions on how to do this? I can give you a link to information regarding this procedure if you like. Well, since this is not a message board where you can actually respond to my post I suppose I had better just give you the link in case you could use the information it contains. It is at the Windows Vista Help and How-to center. I am assuming this is a Vista machine. If not, you can browse to the XP Help and How-to center by clicking on the Help and How-to link at the top of the page, and then click on XP, or just browse backwards to the main page.

Here is the main page of the Vista Help and How-to website:

    http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Windows...

There is a great deal of information on these pages. You can also access the XP Help and How-to by scrolling down a bit and looking in the list at the right side of the page. Other links to great information areas are there too.

Good luck and please have a nice weekend.

  2. Yes all the program does is transfers the files. No account deletion takes place.
