just moved into a home, the old owners left the mower and i can't find the manual online - just needing to know if it needs a gas/oil mix or if it's just straight gasoline? it's a 3.5 horsepower B&S classic engine, 21" R/B pushmower made by Murray . . thanks!!

  1. the 3.5b&s is a four stroke, therefore straight gasoline. to reasssur yourself look on the rear right hand side of the engine where it mounts to the deck and you will see the oil filler spout. while you are there check the oil, it may need topped up. 2 cycle b&s are few and far between, and the classic 3.5 is definately a 4 stroke. i guarentee that!

  2. no, do not mix

you just put gas into the top

and it takes a 30 weight non-detergent motor oil

  3. nooo, DONT mix with oil, just put regular gas in there lol, it would c**p out the engine if you did it too many times =], HOPE THIS HELPS

  4. Look up the model number on the Murray site. you can get anything you could have gotten from the manual on their website.  If it were a 2cycle engine, it seems you would have it marked on your engine somewhere.  Is there a place to "add oil" and a dip stick??  If so, it's not 2 cycle.

  5. no u do not ,it will still run fine if you do though, not something to make a habit of
