Do i need 0 gauge wires or can i keep my 4 gauge

i have to kicker L5's 600 watts rms 1200 watts peak hooked up to an 1800 watt mono block kenwood amp and i have a second battery in the trunk..

so wat do ya think

  1. 4 gauge will support a true 1800watts RMS, or about 250 amps, for a distance of about 2 feet.

    I would recommend at least 2ga or 1/0ga.

    Also, batteries will only help to slow down voltage loss. If you amp is using more power than your alternator can produce, eventually you will deplete your available voltage and/or overwork your alternator.

  3. i have two L5s with two KX600.1s and i went from 4gauge to 0gauge and it beats harder and my light don't dim at all now
