  1. you non't need one but it would have less drain on your alternator after dark start the car up crank the stereo up with the headlights on if they dim i would put one on but you don't have to

  2. I cap won't help much. I would invest rather in a stronger battery before buying a stupid cap.

  3. it will help just wire it right heres some help..

  4. NO, they are a waste of cash-

if your lights dim at night when the sounds are on past halfway and you also have another accessory running (rear defrost and/or AC) then you need to upgrade your charging system

you want to upgrade all of the wires in the charging system to thicker ones, and upgrade the alternator to a high output model, and you could then add a high current car audio power cell (kenetik makes the best ones in my opinion http://www.sonicelectronix.com/cat_i228_... if you don't upgrade the charging system you will just put more strain on your factory alternator and make the problem worse

  5. that depends on what kind of car you're running it in. Generally speaking, you shouldn't need one if it's in at least a mid-sized sedan.  Just make sure the alternator is putting out at least 70 amperes of power.  Is it a Kicker CVR 12"? Because if so, great choice on the sub, it pounds!
