Do i need a Certificate for a Electric Shower?

i have had a Electric Shower put into my Bathroom. i have been told by a few people that i need some sort of Certificate. is this correct.i have asked my Builder, but he said i don't need a Certificate

  1. Just asked my fella he said if the shower is new and the builder as wired it for you then yes or just replaced an old one need a minor works electrical certificate when anyone does work with electric you should always ask for that certifacate hope that helps hun.

    edit:- i know you know this!!!!!!!! Thats my point, to get it certified so you know its safe........get it now....???!!!



  3. If it's a like-for like (same power rating in same place) of a previously existent shower, then it a "Minor Works"  certificate.

    If the circuit (Fusing /wiring) is new as well as the shower, then its an "Electrical Installation" certificate.


  4. If it is new work, then yes you should have a certificate for it.
