Do i need a French visitor visa if I'am a permanent resident of Canada?

I'am a holder of a permanent resident card of Canada, but I have a Philippine passport, do I still need to apply for a French visa to enter France, as I'am planning a trip to France in November.

    Entering France

    Every foreign national wishing to come to France must have ready for presentation at the border documentary evidence of the purpose of the visit, means of support for the duration of the stay and accommodation arrangements. In some cases, a visa is required. It must be requested from the French consulate before departure.

    Ottawa visa office closed

    The French Ministry of Foreign Affaires has decided to close down its Consular section in Ottawa, since July 1st, 2005. This is part of a general program affecting our diplomatic implementation abroad.  


  2. Yes, you need a visa.  You can use the site below to confirm this.  Enter your nationality, enter that you are an alien resident of Canada, enter your destination, and click for the info.

  3. You definitly need a visa to come to France.  Even though you have a permanent residency permit for Canada, it has no value whatsoever for the French authority only you passport makes you travel possible.  

    Since you are Philipino you need a visa.

    Do it as quickly as possible as these things take some times to be done.
