  1. Nop, you don't have to, and "to start this up" you mean by that the private tutoring or to get a licence to teach. If you mean the licence as I told you, you don't have to, but if you mean the private tutoring you can spread the news through your friends, or post  up a brochure on boards.

  2. Hi

There are no specific skill requirements such as certification that you will need to start a tutoring business however if you have a degree in the area that you are specializing in it will definitely help your credibility. Also if you have any prior teaching experiences that will also help you market yourself.

    Hope it helps

    Take care

  3. No you don't.

I hate answering questions with questions, but my answer is going to depend on whether you have experience tutoring or not.

I would suggest that you get a tutoring job at either your school, or your nearest community college or high school as a tutor.  The pay won't be nearly as good as being a private tutor, but d**n the experience is definitely something you need if it's your first time tutoring!

Usually, tutoring centers in city or community colleges are constantly contacted about private tutoring even though they don't offer such services.  HOWEVER, your boss will probably forward these requests to you or your co-workers and you'll be able to negotiate a price with the tutees or the parents of the tutees.

After you feel that you're ready, you can either:

    a) take the private jobs being forwarded to you

    or

    b) Go out on your own and post up private tutoring flyers at school bulliten boards as soon as you get permission to do so.
