Hi, I am going from los angeles california to las vegas nevada in search of a new home, so my 2 month old can have a house to call her own, since cali is soo expensive. Can i take my baby on an airplane 2 months from now when she turns around 4 months, and must I take a car seat? will I have to pay for a seat? I have a car seat and stroller, would it be easier and cheaper to just drive to las vegas, this way I can use my car seat, and not have to worry about my wife holding her in her arms. Id need tickets for my mom, wife, and me, so about $450 for airplane tickets, any suggestions?

  1. ur baby can be in the lap and u dont need a baby seat.  if u desire to take a baby seat (it is your option), then you hvae to purchase a kid ticket for the seat (50% of fare generally) versus only 10% for an infant in arms.  ginve that it is a short flight, you should take the baby in arms.

you can check in the stroller and car seat, or you can have movers send it across.  ur choice if u r ok with the drive

  2. You can put your child on your lap, you get a mini-seatbelt as well :)

Take a look at this website http://www.flyingwithkids.com/

    Hope I helped

  3. your baby can be a lap-child so you will not have to pay for another ticket. I'm really not sure if that will work with a distance like that.

  4. You can take your car seat on board providing it is approved by the FAA. Usually, approved seats have a sticker on the side saying it's ok for air travel. On each side there must be a small opening to slide the seatbelt inside.

But do remember that if the plane is full and you don't have an empty seat nearby, you will have to give your car seat away so they can load it in the belly or in a bin.

You can travel with your infant in your arms, the cabin crew will give you a kangaroo belt and a life vest. If the flight is short, I would opt for that.

  5. Well you DON'T need a booster seat, and what everyone else said was right: just get a lap seat for no extra charge. If you want, you can get a seat made for the baby and ONLY the baby which is built into the plane like a regular seat...
