yeah man all u have to do is go to the dmv and u wil take a test if u pass u get a permit for 1 year with limitations then u can get ur full licensees

You need a motorcycle endorsement to ride a motorcycle, in addition to your car license, or instead of your car license, and more states are going to require a license to operate a side car rig. I suspect that more will have a separate Scooter class license, soon.  

The good news is that you can generally operate a moped with only the car license.  So you can get out there and fight for your rights with the big boys (Lincolns and Cadillacs, and peterbilts, OH MY) with a teensy bit of hp and no training at all, or just get a motorcycle license and learn to ride.

You need a motorcycle license to ride a motorcycle.

In Canada, even if you have a license to drive a car, you will still need a driver's road test for a motorcycle.

Yes. Go to your local DMV or visit their website for more info. I think that once you have an actual drivers license you are only required to take a written test for motorcycle.

In some states (Alabama) and a few others, if you were licensed before 1990 and still carry that valid license, it carries a motorcycle endorsment. For example my license carries "D M" restrictions on the front for driver and motorcycle.

You need a motorcycle license. It is the same license as your drivers  but once you take the tests and pass they put a classification on it.
