  1. Yes, of course as you have to plug the outside Ariel into it.

  2. I have a similar TV and I receive a perfect digital image and excellent sound quality through the existing ariel used for analogue reception.  There should be no need to change your ariel.  I pick up about 80 chanels but I don't subscribe to Sky. - theyr'e all free.

  3. Digital TV uses the same types of aerial as analogue TV.  Anyone trying to sell you a digital aerial should have it shoved firmly in his reception zone.  You may need a bigger aerial if you live a long way from the transmitter.  Try it and see what happens.  It it works, you're OK.  If the picture keeps breaking up, get a bigger aerial.

  4. yes, its just like having the freeview box inside your tv, you still need the ariel

  5. Old know it all - well, knows it all. He's dead right.  Plug in your present aerial, it should be fine.  An indoor one might struggle, and you might have problems if you're in an area of iffy reception, but very rarely.

  6. you can get all the channels with a standard ariel, but if your in a area with a poor signal you will need a digital one. (because you wont get all the channels)

  7. i put a signal amlifier on mine, works fine, before i did the pictures were very snowy

  8. no you don't if you get free view, in your area you might need a booster so you get it nice and clear i have free veiw but it aint switched on here yet i use a booster you can get them at home base argos or any tv shop

  9. Yes

  10. Most existing aerials are fine for freeview reception, and the "digital" aerials being touted by installers are a marketing scam.

Reception will improve when the analogue switch off is complete, and the power output of transmissions will be boosted by upto 10 times.

  11. If its already working there is no need to change when the digital switch over happens.

It can also depend on your area wether you need a digital aerial. But you wont know til the switch over.

Your best bet is to check on www.digital.co.uk to see if you have it in your area.

  12. Our aerial is at least 15 years old.  We can get around 75 Freeview channels with perfect clarity...
