Do i need a dvd rom drive to play Bioshock on my pc ?

I dont have a dvd rom drive and was just wondering if Bioshock was on cd rom. It didnt say it in the specifications

well the only way you can play the game is download it on steam or through the illegal means like torrent and katz.cd

I do believe its only available as a dual layered DVD from stores. Now if you were to buy and download it from Steam, you wouldn't need a disc drive at all.
