  1. only if you get caught just kidding yes you need a license usually a on-line test will give you one.  not sure what link it is though

  2. In Canada, yes....called "the Operators Card"

  3. It depends on where you live and how old you are. Can you supply more info?

  4. You need a license for small water craft, i.e. jetskis & blow up boats with motors but not regular boats which makes absolutely no sense to me.

  5. There is huge confusion around this issue.  The only correct answer to your question is "It depends."  The truth is that the rules vary greatly from country to country and in the US they sometimes vary greatly from state to state.  These links will give you an idea of the variations.

  6. Here is the stupid part, you need a license to operate any kind of transportation, car, truck, airplane but not a boat unless you are carrying paying passengers. The evidence of

this is obvious everytime I go out on the water. At least in Canada they require a boat operators card which suggest

some minimum of proven competance. That does not mean that Canadian boaters are any safer. I just had a canadian boat speed up and turn in front of me on the ICW forcing me to hit a shoal. As the stand-on vessel he broke every rule of Maritime Law plus my props and shafts and our USCG would not even help me identify him as he just simply kept going leaving me adrift as a vessel in distress without power.

  7. It depends on where you live. You do need to be licensed in New Hampshire to drive a boat or any water craft.
