  1. Well you need to have enough money to pay atleast 1 year tuition fee and also enough money to live for atleast 6 months. Rest you can work and pay as well.

So you should have a fair idea about your tuition fee but roughly 7000 usd as living expense should reflect in your bank statement.

    Best of luck

  2. Fiesty is along the right tracks.

Tutition and living expenses in the United States are incredibly high for international students. The total cost can range from $18,000 to around $45,000 per year!

Of course the actual cost depends on many factors such as which school you attend, which state/city, where you decide to rent or if you choose the dorms.

If money is an issue, which in 95% of cases it is, then I suggest looking at Community Colleges. These only offer associates degrees (2-years) but they are considerbly more affordable than four-year colleges and universites and also the courses you study at a community college will transfer over to a four-year instiution.

What this basically means is that if you study at a community college, you pay a cheaper tuition rate for the first two years and then the higher tuition rate for the next two years - you still end up with the same degree but you can save yourself a few thousand dollars over the two-year duration by doing it this way.

You will still need to show to proof to the school and the consular officer at your interview that you can cover all tutiton and living expenses for a minimum of two years.

  3. Yes ... and considerably more than TK told you!

First, most colleges and university fees for foreign students are MUCH higher than $7,000! Look more towards the $20,000 or better. For example, tuition alone, not including any other fees, living expenses, books, etc., are over $15,000 at Kansas State and that is a low end cost.

Additionally, and this is from the U.S. Government Web site:

You must have "financial evidence that shows you or your parents who are sponsoring you have sufficient funds to cover your tuition and living expenses during the period of your intended study. For example, if you or your sponsor is a salaried employee, please bring income tax documents and original bank books and/or statements. If you or your sponsor own a business, please bring business registration, licenses, etc., and tax documents, as well as original bank books and/or statements."

This requirement is usually about $25,000.

  4. depends on which degree you want to pursue. I did my masters here. I had funding right from first sem. So, no fee. I just had to earn my living, which you can easily. For bachelor's there are no/or very less assistanships.

Finally, if you get aid/scholarship or funding, its a piece of cake or else it might be very difficult.
