  1. Hyper-pigmentation in itself is not disqualifying however, because Hyper-pigmentation can be caused by a medical condition, if it is noticed by the doctor at MEPS, he might ask you about it.

Even if your treatment was by a medical doctor or by over the counter medications, its possible that you might need to have a consultation to determine if this will be an ongoing issue when you are in the Military.

Because of the strenious exercise you will be doing, it's possible that you will get another sever outbreak of jock itch (Tinea cruris, also known as jock itch, is a fungal infection of the groin).

If you have medical documentation on this, get everything you have.

Here's what you do.  Go to MEPS (with medical documents in hand).  IF and only IF the doctors ask you about it - give them the documentation.  If you did only over the counter meds, tell them that.

Also, let them know that this has been your only case of it and have not had it since.  They might set you up for a consultation with a dermatologist but, keep your story straight.

    Shouldn't be a problem.

  2. I'm pretty sure you're ok. Hyperpigmentation is not something that would avoid you from doing your job and serving in the Armed Forces. Thank you for serving our Nation!!!

  3. Just goes to Meps, doctor will decide you need waiver or not, but normally they only allowed you had 1 waiver, mean if you had like traffic ticket etc.. might hurt your chance.

  4. Hyperpigmentation is not disqualifying for entry. Source below is the medical standard. So, you don't need a waiver.

  5. It depends on the type of infection.

Just ask the recruiter he will gladly get you an answer.

  6. If they MEPS DOCs see it they will want to know why.  Get your med docs together and give them to your Recruiter.
