Hi,

my pc was custom built so i have no manufacture name

so having difficulty trying to find the best drivers to install,

when i insert a dvd or cd the sound is (for want of a better description)

warbley, as if gargling with water. no matter what program i use (media player, realplayer, power dvd)

but, after ripping a cd to my library the sound is fine

you tube and google videos play fine.

even downloaded videos play perfectly.

any idea what the problem is?

i tried realtek sound card, but no difference.

any help would be great.

  1. Has the CD drive EVER sounded ok?

Could be the thing is defective.

If your psu is not enough wattage to support all your hardware it may be dragging.

  2. put the cd that u got with ur motherboard .If u've lost it read the manual it'll tell u where to get drivers from..

If all this does not solve the problem then u can cunsult a tech person and he''ll do the needful .Or u can just by a Soundcard..
