Do i need a passport if i'm in florida and going to california?

i thought i only needed an ID but i just heard you can't travel if i don't have a passport even if it's still in the US

  3. No, you can travel anywhere in the us without a passport. But now you can't get into canada with out one :( That stinks. But it is ridiculous to think you need a passport to travel in the us.

  4. no, you need passport only when you travel outside of country. when you travel between states you need of course to have your ID. im a traveler and i have been around the world. hope that helps.

    That being said, if you take a side trip to Mexico, you'll need one. I always carry my passport, no matter where I'm going, because it is an internationally recognized form of identification.
