URGENT!!!! do u need a passport to crosss the border.....?

i am planning on going to the states tomorrow and soem people are saying i need a passport to go across the border is this true????

Yes you will need a passport if you are traveling from one country to another, no if you are traveling within the States.

First, where are you from?

Some part of Asia country you dun have to use a passport if you're starying near the border BUT there are time limit for the gate to open and close.

are you crossing from mexico? if you are then yes you need a passport. if you are crossing from canada i dnt think you need a passport but you need some other sort of identification like a drivers license or birth certificate.

Well if you are going to another country you must have a passport. It also depends what country you are from and what country you are going to. Every country has different regulations.

Are you a Canadian?

Canadians entering the U.S. by air or sea from Canada to have been required to carry passports starting January 2007.

The U.S. has said it will require a passport, or another form of secure border identification card, at all land border crossings by the start of 2008.  But I haven't been across the border since 2008, so I don't know if they have been enforcing that.
