  1. Yes you do need a passport. If you are in the U.S.A. you need to have a passport to go out of the USA or just go to a different state you need to have a passport.

  2. 4 wrong answers in a row.  Passports are not needed for sea travel in the Caribbean region until June 1, 2009...and even then, if the cruise begins and ends in the same port in the U.S., passports will probably not be needed.  MANY people will answer and say you need a passport, but none give you a reference...because they cannot. See site below to read the law for your self.  Some  cruise lines want passengers to have passports, so it is wise to call your cruise line and ask their policy.

  3. Yes, if you plan to get off the boat in Haiti you will definitely need a passport. Going to almost all foreign countries you are required to have a passport.

  4. Charlie has given you the only correct answer.

  5. yes

  6. Charlie is right.  However, you would need a passport in case you got left behind in a port [you need it to fly out of any country].

Interesting question.  I didn't realize any ships stopped in Haiti, other than for the "private island" stop.  Haiti is not a country that is tourist-friendly due to the crime and political instability.

  7. Heres the rules regarding passports:

beginning June of 2009 you will  need a Passport for the trip you mentioned.

as of Now, what you need is a Photo ID and birth certificate.

but i would if i were you CALL the cruise line and ASK them.

    Have a great cruise.

  8. Yes, they have changed the regulations and you now need a passport to go on any cruise that has a destination outside of the United States.

You can get one very quickly - the large influx of applicants is over. My mother just applied for one and got hers in a week and a half WITHOUT expediting it!

  9. we just got back from grand turk, and bahamas and did not need one we took ids and birth certificate.  although it would make things faster if you have one
