  1. Assuming you do have a passport for whatever country you are a citizen of, I would never put a national border between youself and your passport. I used to go to Canada with just my Alien registration card and American drivers license but not since all the 9-11 fiasco. Depending on where you are from you may even need a visa. The Canadian equivalent of the Alien Registration Card (I think they call it "Landed Immigrant Card") you would certainly need, if only to get back again.

  2. You need to use your Afgani passport to travel from Canada to the U.S.  You will also need a visa to enter the U.S.  You can go to the site below and read and follow all directions there to apply for a B2 tourist visa to visit the U.S.  It is NOT easy to get a visa to enter the U.S.  You may find it is easier for your mother to visit you in Canada.  If she is a legal permanent resident in the U.S., she does not need a visa to visit Canada.

  3. you will need a passport from your home country. If not stay home, because if you get caught in immigration they will say you are from Iraq.

  4. are you a united states citizen? if so then i don't think you do, but if you're neither then you need a visa.
