I am travelling to Scotland mid-week this week and don't have a passport at the moment. As i am travelling within the UK from Northern Ireland Belfast International Airport is a passport needed or will another form of ID be ok to use? Driving licence etc. Any websites or definite exact answers would be grateful. Thanks.

  1. you don't need a passport to travel within ( United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland ) but you do need I.D confirming that you are that person and confirming when you reside in the UK.

  2. One does not need a passport to travel within the UK but you will need some form of approved photo-id in order to get through airport security checks. A driving licence will be fine.

  3. Yes Between England - Scotland and Ireland yes.

Nowadays you need to bring it with you 'just in case' they ask.

  4. If you're flying then you may require photo ID, although I went to Jersey when I was 15, and I didn;t have a passport OR any photo ID. Internal flights are not crossing any boundaries, other than the Scottish/Welsh boundary, on which they don't have passport control. If you're concerned though, you should check with the airport, or take along a driving license just in case

  5. you will need it for id purposes if u have one

  6. Some form of picture ID will be required coming from N.I ie. drivers licence, but coming from England there is a Passport Control

    (tongue in cheek)  hehehe

  7. i don't know about northern ireland and scotland but when i travelled from Southampton to manchester i needed my passport.

  8. photo id is required by the airline so contact them

  9. You do not need a passport unless you are passing through immigration (which you are not as you are travelling within the UK). However, you do need photo id to board the plane.

  10. I think nowadays you need photographic ID, passport preferably, to fly anywhere, even between Ireland and England. Best to check either with the airport or a travel agency/airline.

  11. Yes, I'm pretty sure you do, enjoy your trip!!!!
