  1. No. Not to travlel within the US. Only into or out of it.

  2. Nope, nor do you need it to go to places like Alaska, hawaii, Puerto Rico.

Only if you go to a foreign land by plane (and that DOES include Canada and mexico)

  3. no, you only need it if your leaving the United States

  4. As of June 1, 2009 you will need a passport to return to the U.S. from Canada, Mexico, Bermuda and Caribbean. (You don't really need it to exit, unless you plan to return!)

You've never needed a passport to travel with in the US, even if you are NOT a citizen.  Once you are admitted into the U.S. you can travel freely. (Although if you are not a citizen and you get into some legal trouble, I recommend you have your passport handy!)

See reference link for more information.

  5. Nope. Are you an American citizen? Than you definitely don't need one. If you aren't, it's a good idea to keep it on you even if you are just traveling within the country. You'll definitely need one upon entering the United States, or going to a foreign country.

  6. are you in the US already? state to state there is nothing needed.  If you are going in from Canada by land then you either need a passport OR a driver's lisence and birth certificate.  If you are flying across the border then you need your passport.
