Do i need a spare battery for my psp to get custom firmware?

i have a slim daxter version and made mms and pb and put them in the screen stayed black and someone told me to hit X i did than the lights start flashing on and off than 3 minutes later the psp turns off someone told me thats whats supposed to happen but i am clueless as to what to do next if i put the pb in the same thing happens so do i need a new battery?

no....once you turn your battery into a pandora battery to install CFW you can reverse it back to normal....
