  1. Your rabbit should have a vet. They should get an overall health check when you first get the rabbit, and annually (once a year) afterwards to make sure the rabbit is up keeping the health.

Of course, if your rabbit gets injured or ill, he needs a vet.

  2. While I agree with the person above, I can understand if you do not want to take your rabbit to the vet every year.  Rabbits are very hardy animals and health issues are usually due to "poor diet, lack of cleanliness, or improper handling."  I would advise perhaps doing an initial checkup with an experienced rabbit vet (a local humane society might be able to point you in the right direction, you can also look online), and then monitoring your rabbit for any possible illness.  If your bunny gets too fat or skinny, acting strangely, etc you can take him/her to the vet.

Obviously a yearly check would help to prevent possible problems, but realistically, this might not happen.  Make sure you do your research on rabbits to best provide your bunny with the care it needs.

I found this site that had lots of great information by a rabbit vet:

    Hope that helps!

  3. probably, it still gets sick like dogs do.

  4. Yes, find a good exotics vet before she gets sick

  5. You should have a vet in mind if you ever need one.  Go to a vet that treats small animals.  Some vets won't have any experience in small animals.  Your bunny doesn't have to see a vet regularly.  It would only need to see a vet if it was sick.  If you take proper care of it by feeding it and keeping its cage clean then it should never need a vet.

  6. Rabbits should have vets.  Try looking up exotic vets in your area.

  7. Yep you dont have to have a specific one but just one planned for emergencys.
