Do i need a visa for italy just to pass through italy?

i will be passing through italy by road as a part of my tour. do i need a visa for that since i will be entering the italy territory even though i don't stay there? i have an indian passport with US green card.

  1. As a EU citizen, yes you do need a visa, even with a US green card.


  2. yes you will need a visa   your green card will not help  you are an indian citizen thus will need a visa   nephew   is italian  border agent  he should know the regs

If you are entering from austria or france you'll not meet any border police since the border is not manned anymore.It is supposed that you got a schengen visa for entering the schengen area (germany or france in this case) if you are coming from east (former ex yugoslavia border) things are different and you could need a visa.

  4. The last time I went to Italy they did not have anyone manning the passport inspection desk.
