  1. It probably depends on where in Ireland you intend to travel to, there is a common travel area between the Republic of Ireland and the UK which means no passport is needed but you should be able to provide some form of ID on request.  

    However, most airlines insist on ID being presented which is either a passport, a driver's licence or in the case of European nationals their ID papers.  

    You should check with the airline you intend to travel with what form of ID they will accept because if your only form of ID is an Indian passport, it may raise questions marks.  You should also speak to the Irish Embassy in London, this link lead to their contact number:
