Do i need alevels to become a student nurse in the army? 10 points

please help - i have been on the bristish army website and it says i need 5 gcse's at c or above or a nvq - but doesn't state i need alevels - does anyone knoiw i need to have alevels thanx x

Hi,

Basically army nursing has the same requirements as civilian nursing. For a diploma in nursing (which will still lead to becoming a qualified staff nurse) youy dont need a levels, but you do need a high level of GCSE's including the sciences, maths and english. For a degree in nursing (which will still lead to a qualified staff nurse, but also put you up the career ladder faster and also earn you a commission as an officer,) yes you do need a levels for that.

well because its a government website, if it doesn't say you need A levels you wont, just the GCSEs or NVQ

I dont know but like you said it says you need 5 GCSE'S at c or above sooo you obviously dont need a levels IF it says that

Hi, I am part British and part American I trained in the US Army as a Nurse, I did my secondary education in the UK and because I opted for the Bsc (Degree) I did need A levels. But I believe (I have friends in the UK Army) who said in the British Army you can do a Diploma in Nursing which does not require A levels...you will need GCSE's however. Good luck, Army training is the best Nurse training in the world. You won't regret it. i just got out of the Army
