Question:

Do i need braces again?

I had braces from ages 7-12. i wore my retainer as my orthodontist instructed: for a year.

i'm now 21 years old and some of my teeth have shifted. i don't know if it's because my wisdom teeth came in and i waited a while before getting them extracted so those pushed them around, or if they are just moving back to being crooked naturally.

i'm nervous that they will be crooked, and i'll need braces again.

braces at age 21? not so fierce.

what do you think?

  1. Well i only think you should get them if they moved alot then i do suggest going to your orthodontist and talking to him/her about in the end it will be your diccsion!!!

  2. probably will need them shortly, you can rock 'em, try the invisalign

  3. i say, if they dont look bad leave them the way they are.  but i do suggest you take out your wisdom teeth, since they always have a tendency to overcrowd peoples mouths.  if you decide not to take them out, you have a more likely chance of your teeth getting more crooked, and then you will need braces again, if you like your teeth being straight.

  4. i would just leave it the way they are.

  5. your supposed to wear your retainer all the time for a year after you get your braces off and then wear it only when you sleep until you're 21...if you didn't wear it all that time then they most likely went back to the way they used to be

  6. i would leave them alone

  7. Well if you are really not happy with the way your teeth have shifted and want them straight again but dont want to have to get braces there is only one choice>>>>>>

    get invisalign!!!

They are invisable braces that can easily be taken out! So they will straighten your teeth without looking like braces. But they do take a bit longer than braces and are a bit pricey. But if you really want straight teeth then this is perfect.

  8. You got your braces at such a young age, that this caused your teeth to shift. I'm not a dentist, but I know this happened to my uncle (who got his braces at age 8).

  9. yeah get em

im 29 just got mine off

  10. your teeth shifted for the reason exactly.

YOU GOT YOUR BRACES TOO YOUNG!

don't ask why, but that is the exact reason.

i got my braces at 15, and i am now 16.

getting braces at a younger age isn't so good.

it causes your teeth to shift even if you wear a retainer.

i think you should get braces again. it'll be worth it! :)
