Do i need hands on traing to become a medical assistant? or can i just get the education learning from home?

I am currentlky a home health aide and taking medical assistant courses online at home. they said i dont need to get certified. but how would I get certified? if i am doing it at home?

  1. You should look into the Sanford Brown Institute to pursue becoming a medical assistant.  Here is their website in New York and Garden City but there is alot more locations as well! http://www.sbgardencity.com/  and http://www.sbnewyork.com/ .


  2. Most of the time you do. depending on the state but as long as you can pass your test to get certified your good. You can also try volunteer work and they'll consider that hands on training

  3. youcan't learn things like EKGs and Venipuncture without hands on training-so yes

  4. If I was a patient I would want you to have had hands on training/learning/education.  Of course a patient wouldn't know what kind of training you have had, but I think you would benefit greatly by having that experience. And any reputable school would see that you got hands on experience.
