  1. The short answer is no, you do not need a special wiring harness or adapter to hook up your new speakers. What you do need is a wiring diagram so you can decipher which lines going to your current factory speakers are what. Ford is pretty common in their wiring schemes, you can find what you need at www.installdr.com.

The reasoning for knowing what color is what is keep your new speakers in phase. The positive and the negative must be correct or your sound will be distorted, etc.

There are several ways to ensure a good wire connection. You can cut the wires, crimp on female spade terminals, then slide the terminals directly onto the male spade terminals on the speaker. If you're wanting to go even more professional you can solder the connections. Both work well, soldering ensures it will never come off...the crimp on connectors work just as well as long as you make sure they are crimped properly (pull hard on each one after crimping, if it comes off..it's not right!)

This is general info, because your new speakers are component speakers your incoming source will go to the crossover that came with the speakers. Your wiring will then go from the crossover to the woofer cone portion and the tweeter portion of your setup.

    Hope this helps!

  2. Use black tape or wire nuts, everyone else does...

  3. If you don't want to cut the stock speaker harnesses, you should use something like this. http://www.metraonline.com/products.aspx...
