  1. Yes.

  2. no, I'm Canadian you need your birth certificate...

  3. To enter Canada by ground you need proof of citizenship PLUS government issued photo ID.  That means a birth certificate or passport or other proof of US citizenship (even an expired passport is OK ... that's what I've been using) *PLUS* a driver's licence, state ID card, etc.  By air you must have a valid passport.  Have a great trip!!

  4. Yes. I believe Canadian consul based in the US will be a help. Try seeking their assistance.

  5. Are you flying?  Yes, you need a passport.

If you are driving over the border, currently you need proof of citizenship (birth certificate) and government ID (driver's license).

  6. You do not need a passport to enter Canada by air, but to return to the USA by air, you DO need a passport.

If you are driving, you do not need a passport to go into Canada or to come back into the USA. Just have a copy of your birth certificate and all IDs possible.

  7. I think if you have a green card you don't need it .

(if you don't have a green card you need a travel passport and US passport)

  8. yes but.....depending on how old you are you might be able to get through with a birth certificate

  9. Yes you do, you need your passport any time that you leave the country.  And if you have to leave on August 1 I would take your old passport to the post office cause they handle this stuff (i would have never thought so but they do).  Then i think you have to go to a photo place and get your picture taken and i think you have to do that before you go to the post office because they ask you for it.  You should also bring all of your documentation to the post office to prove your citizenship (birth certificate, valid address, social security card) And i would do it quickly because it takes time so you should do it asap if you want to have it by your trip.

  10. Depends if you're flying or driving.  If you're driving over the border I think as of now you just need a birth certficate and driver's license...but the law will be changing soon...if you're flying then I'm pretty sure you need your passport.
