Question:

Do i need piston rings on a mini moto?

i have a mini moto and it wont start some1 told me it was piston rings and i have checked and there are no piston rings on the piston but the actual spark plug sparks and i have built mini motos from scratch before and never had this problem if you do need piston rings can you make them or can you get them cheap in the uk i thing it is a 47cc

  1. Wow, if you have built these things from scratch before, I feel kinda bad for whoever you built them for, if you don't know if it needs rings. Besides, it would still start w/o them, it would just have a lot of blow-by. Everything needs rings that needs pistons. They tend to seperate the compression cylinder from the crankcase. No, you cannot make them. To fix it, you must hurl it over a cliff, and go buy a real motorcycle. Good luck!


  2. hey, this is weird, but if it used to run, piston rings must have been in there. anyway, it takes air, gas , compression and spark to make it run. You can tell spark easy, compression is air comming out of spark plug hole when you turn it over, gas and air are carb.

    eliminate it down to whats missing.
