The manufacturer depending on the brand, will have a special battery or standard rechargable, see if you can locate the battery then take it to a local hardware store, where someone should be able to help you find  the proper battery, or help you order one from the manufacturer.

nickel cadmium or nickel hydride batteries would be ok the size and number will be determined by the lighting circuit

any rechargable batteries work us energizer i use them in everything havent bought batt in years lol bought a batch of a 1000 off line for cheap

The batteries for those are rechargables.  I have seen them for sale at Lowe's and Home Depot, along with the replacement LED bulbs.
