  1. most places have the boot rental/lift ticket sales in a building right by the parking lot, so no worries there

others might have you tromp through some snow to get to the check-in buildings

depends on where you go, i wear some chucks in, change into my rental boots and walk my shoes back out to the car so i don't have to buy a locker

  2. You can get some winter boots that will work fine.  I have a pair of North Face boots that I've taken to big mountains, and never had had cold feet.

  3. any..like what you'd normally wear out in snow..probably boots that've been treated with water proofing

  4. You don't need specific shoes, but you can buy something called a "snow clog" for $20-$30 (try Sears etc.) made just for this sort of thing.  They are a full shoe with a back (unlike a traditional "clog") and have a heavy tread.  They don't have ties or buckles or anything, they slip on and slip off really easy, which is great for quick changing in and out of your boots, or for putting your feet up in front of a fireplace for a few minutes.

  5. I have a weird ritual of wearing red Vans Rowley 66/99 skate shoes.  I have always worn them to get to the slopes.  It's like a tradition.  You can wear any shoes you want.
