i bought new skis this year and have got a couple of proud weeks use out of them, but now looks like it will be next year before they see the light of day again.

apart from just making sure they are bone dry should i be doing anything else to them before putting them away in a cupboard?

thanks

  1. In addition to what the previous poster said them,

wax them with a thick layer of wax that also covers the edges.  Don't scrape the wax off until next season when you will be using them again. Don;t store them in an attic because the temperature changes too much and it gets very hot.  I store my skis in my garage over the summer.  Keep them somewhere the the humidity and temperature doesn't change much,

  2. Several things that should be done,

    1. wax the skiis

    2. release the tension in the bindings by moving the din setting to it's lowest number

    3. put a small piece of wax paper between them where ever they touch when strapped together

    4. write the din number that they were set at on the skiis so you can recalibrate them in the fall.

    5. buckle your boots closed for the summer, keep them in a cool place, not in the garage attic.
